RIP Chrissy

When I thought of the name Feel Yourself Up, I immediately thought of the Divinyls' 1991 hit, "I Touch Myself". My BFF and I even joked about where the group was at these days and if we could ever get them to perform at an event.  Sadly, today I learned that Christina "Chrissy" Amphlett, the frontwoman for the Australian rock band died yesterday at the age of 53. Even more shocking was to learn that she herself had her own battle with breast cancer starting in 2010.  Click on the link below to read more about Chrissy.

So, I'm dedicating today's post to Chrissy Amphlett, and touching yourself in the name of breast cancer awareness.

Let today's post serve as your reminder to "touch yourself" this month

Vote for me!

My Dad, a life-long Dodger fan, asked my Mom to enter me in the MLB's 2013 Honorary Bat Girl contest, and I need your votes!

Funny story...About this time last year I had just been diagnosed and my parents decided to go to a baseball game to get away from the chaos of my diagnosis. Turns out it was Breast Cancer Awareness Day at Dodger Stadium. My parents had a good laugh.

Follow the link below to cast your vote. You can vote as often as you like.

Select Dodgers from the Team drop down list then look for me!

My "Cancerversary"

On April 29th 2012, I felt what I thought might be a lump in my right breast. Turns out I was right! Now, one year later I am dedicating this milestone "Cancerversary" to raise awareness about the importance of breast self-examination and early detection. This year's event is for local supporters. Come meet me and some of my dearest friends on Monday, April 29th between 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. on the corner of Antonio & Coto de Caza Drive. Wear a black or white T-Shirt and we will adorn you with pink accessories when you arrive. Sign up for a 15 minute time slot. Thank you for your support!
